It has a thick, sweet flesh, and is wonderful for pickling and preserving. Fabulous raw in salads or cooked in your favorite dish as well, these cuties are bite-sized and cherry-shaped. Wonderful sweet taste with a tiny bit of heat.
This pepper has still never been Genetically Modified, and it as I said is an Heirloom, and Historic variety. These pepper bushes produce darling rounded fruits that are about 1.5” in diameter. Cherry peppers start green and turn red as they mature. The Red Cherry Sweet Pepper variety continually produces sweet fruit. This is a great variety to grow at home when space is an issue as the plant is small but a hard worker. So planting in pots is a great option as well, just as long as you pay attention to the watering and fertilize at least every other week with 1/2 the dose.
