Unusual pear shaped with good yields and an excellent, rich flavor. It is a short potato leaf plant that produces prolific quantities of 4 to 6 oz. fruit. The fruit looks like a beautiful mahogany to deep brick color, Bartlett pear shaped, with greenish streaked neck. The flavor is so very rich and complex, super juicy, and has a wonderful feeling texture in your mouth that is so creamy smooth - YUM. The Black Trifele is one of the blackest (inside) varieties available and is resistant to cracking. Pay close attention to beetles though.
