Joe’s Long Cayenne – Capsicum Annuum

Description

An Heirloom which is a beautiful long, slender cayenne pepper with medium heat. Bright red fruits are excellent for homemade hot sauce and dry well strung as ristras (an arrangement of drying chili pepper pods) and excellent dried hot pepper flakes. The 8-12” long, thin-fleshed fruits taper to a skinny point. Originally from Calabria, Italy. Circulated through the Italian-Canadian seed saving community in Toronto before being sent to Joe Sestito in Troy, New York.
