Description

Genovese basil is associated with Italy, but it really originated from Asia and Africa in ancient times. It made its way to the Mediterranean along the trade routes of old. It became known to the Italians first in the Liguria region by the Romans who used it as a bread spread. Genovese has a flavor of a mix of mint and cloves, which makes it so much more desirable, when mixed with all of its ingredients.
