Amaranthus – Early Splendor

Description

This is a strikingly gorgeous plant, and one that is just not used enough. It is so unusual, and will add rapid color to your perennial borders, which is another plus, especially if you are wanting that color very early in the spring. Amaranth is a rare sources of leafy vegetable protein, which seems to be little known, and will make a great addition to your edible garden. Used by the Hopi Indians as a ceremonial food dye to produce red corn bread.
